It is estimated that the number of Americans suffering from degenerative joint arthropathia is 35 million (one out of 7 Americans) and the medical costs amount to 6.5 billion dollars. In addition, it is reported that 7 million out of the 35 million patients are experiencing difficulties in their daily life. If we assume that there is no treatment of degenerative arthropathia, the number of patients will reach 59 millions by 2020.
Since the latter half of 1990, there have been various reports of curative effects of chondroitin and glucosamine on degenerative arthropathia of the knee by various international medical societies, and with the publication of “Arthritis Cure”(co-authored by Jason Theodosakis, Brenda Adderley, and Barry Fox), etc. as a turning point, the compound product of chondroitin and glucosamine have become a supplement which is sold mostly in the USA.
